Pharrell Williams is spreading positivity everywhere he goes: from his infectious summer anthem “Happy” to encouraging young artists on NBC’s “The Voice”, to helping get recyclables out of the sea with Raw for the Oceans, Pharrell is continuing his upbeat trend with his current collaboration with Adidas.
Skateboard P decided to use his platform for a good cause and created a conceptual campaign on equality. When you first see the branding for it–which shows an equal sign above Pharrell’s name and the Adidas logo next to it–you might think that just means Pharrell is Adidas, and you wouldn’t be too far off. Over the past year, P has been a walking billboard for the retailer wearing it everywhere, including his infamous Grammys outfit.
But, on a larger scope, that equal sign stands for equality. In a new ad, teased by Pharrell on Instagram, he says, “The world is united by equality and made beautiful by diversity. My new @adidasoriginals collaboration is available now.”

Pharrell’s message is reflected quite literally in his designs, as all of the pieces are unisex and have a uniform-like quality. In the teaser, everyone wears white shirts and neutral colored chinos with Pharrell’s new iteration of the Stan Smiths—which come in felt-like fabric, giving a new meaning to the famous “tennis shoe.”
As for that Adidas color wheel P gave us a sneak peek of on Instagram, it now seems like doing up the Stan Smith in all of those hues was a metaphor for racial diversity (though we’re still waiting on the release of the bulk of those colors).
The collection is available now in white, orange, and lime green with the jackets and Stan Smiths priced at $120.
