“Bullying is a very serious issue and needs to stop now,” says Diddy in the release. In the video, he says, “In this digital age sometimes it just doesn’t stop when the days end. … If it’s not you being bullied, help someone who is. … Stand up to bullying.”

Charles Ramsey, Rescuer of Amanda Berry, Recounts his Heroic Day to CNN's Anderson Cooper

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5elloa4kOc&w=560&h=315]
Charles Ramsey
On Monday, Charles Ramsey became a national hero.  Ramsey is the next door neighbor to the three Castro brothers, who allegedly held three women captive in a Cleveland home for more than a decade.  Ramsey says shortly after he’d returned home from McDonald’s on Monday, he heard “a girl going nuts” at the Castro house.

It was Amanda Berry. But Ramsey didn’t know who she was. He’d lived next door to the Castro brothers and barbequed with Ariel Castor in the back yard. But he’d never seen this young woman before.   “She said help me get out,” he says. “I figured it was a domestic violence dispute,” he told The Associated Press. The door would only open a crack, so he told her to kick out the screen.  “She comes out with a little girl and says ‘Call 911.’

Born On This Day in 1921: Boxing Legend Sugar Ray Robinson

Sugar Ray Robinson
Born Walker Smith Jr. on May 3, 1921 in Ailey, Georgia, boxing legend Sugar Ray Robinson is often regarded as the greatest boxer in history. Robinson began his boxing career at 19 after moving to New York City with his family as a teenager. Using the borrowed Amateur Athletic Union boxing card of a friend named Ray Robinson, he began to practice regularly at a Harlem gym where his talent was recognized. Robinson earned the moniker “Sugar” from his coach George Gainford, who characterized the boxer’s style as being “sweet as sugar.”  In just six years, he became the world welterweight champion, boasting an 91 fight winning-streak. He held the title from 1946 to 1951. At the height of his career, Robinson’s record was 128-1-2 with 84 knockouts.  To learn more about Robinson’s life and career, click here and watch video footage of Robinson below:

R.I.P. Chris "Mack Daddy" Kelly of Atlanta-Based '90s Rap Duo Kriss Kross

Kris Kross
According to the AP and ABC News, Chris “Mack Daddy” Kelly (pictured left) from the hip-hop duo Kris Kross, has reportedly died in Atlanta today. He was announced dead around 5 p.m. this evening at the Atlanta Medical Center. Kelly was only 34 years old.
Because it is so soon, authorities are unclear about the cause of his sudden death, and an autopsy will be performed. Kelly and Chris Smith had a huge amount of fame in the 90s, bringing us classic jams like “Jump,” “Warm It Up,” and “I Missed The Bus,” the anthem for habitually late students everywhere in the early ’90s. The duo was also known for wearing their clothes backwards, going with their name, Kriss Kross. They were discovered by Jermaine Dupri at a shopping mall in Atlanta, and the two even performed together again for the first time in years during the So So Def 20th Anniversary concert earlier in the year. There was talk of them possibly working on new music in the future.
Sadly, that won’t be happening. But we’ll always have their past work, especially Totally Krossed Out. As more information comes out about Kelly’s sudden passing, we’ll keep you updated, but keep his family in your prayers and play “Jump” at least once before you call it a night.
