NBA champion Dwyane Wade has hosted his first fashion fundraiser Thursday evening in Miami for his philanthropic organization, Wade’s World Foundation. A Night on the RunWade included live performances, a scrumptious three-course dinner, and a fashion show featuring clothing from the likes of Dsquared2, Versace and The Webster. The Miami Heat player made his catwalk debut and wooed the audience with a backward somersault as he walked the runway.Wade’s girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union, Alonzo Mourning and fellow teammates, Chris Bosh and James Jones, joined the charity event to lend their support.
The event, at the city’s Moore Building, was presented by Today Show fashion correspondent Jill Martin and featured performances by Dangerflow. The evening also included a Fashion Q&A between Dwyane and Jill Martin.
The event is part of Wade’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the South Florida community.
Wade created Wade’s World Foundation to provide support to various educational, health and family service programs. In addition to these events, Wade and his family have been dedicated to giving back to the South Florida and Chicago-area communities through a variety of community outreach programs and donations since 2003.
