Alicia Keys continues to speak her truth, sticking to her word that her days of feeling forced to wear make-up due to cultural pressures are long gone.
Most recently, the Grammy-award winning singer stopped by The Today Show and not too long after they all got to talking, co-host Tamron Hall was next to support the movement to rock a natural face by wiping off her make-up while on national television.

Keys has been experiencing backlash recently for her decision to attend this year’s VMAs without make-up, with her supporting husband Swizz Beatz taking to social media to defend his wife’s choices.
With her movement continuing to gain momentum, along with Hall, co-hosts Billy Bush and Al Roker also joined in on the fun, with all agreeing to wipe their faces clean while broadcasting across the U.S. Keys also gushed at Hall’s fresh face, complimenting the co-host exclaiming, “You’re so beautiful, look at you!”
During the on-air conversation, Keys reminded everyone that her choices have nothing to do with her hating make-up, nor does she have anything against those who choose to wear make-up. For Keys, she no longer wants to feel forced to wear make-up and it’s as simple as that.
In the essay she penned earlier this summer explaining her decision to walk away from her make-up brushes, the singer wrote, “I don’t want to cover up anymore. Not my face, not my mind, not my soul, not my thoughts, not my dreams, not my struggles, not my emotional growth. Nothing.”

I don’t wear make-up. My idea of make-up is, clear mascara to protect the lases from UV ray due to the sun and lip gloss also to protect from the sun, other than that I have never worn make-up. As for Alicia Keys, she doesn’t need make up she is naturally beautiful. Good for her.
I’m a 50 year old woman and I have never worn makeup.I’m a realist.if you can’t accept me for then way I am which is real.never hid behind makeup.never given into peer pressure .I’m just me and I love me.
Same here. Never wore it, never wanted to, and never felt like I needed to either.
Plus it frees up my time to do other things, I enjoy more. If people love doing it, that’s fine, and I admire great makeup, but I’m not into it myself.
The ‘backlash’ that Alicia’s getting regarding no makeup is driven by those who will lose money if it becomes ‘a thing,’ and expands to millions of people who are tired of fronting. She has always spoken her mind, and in her early career she went directly into helping someone else by starting charities and/or foundations. Watch – someone will try to come up w/something unsavory in her past to ruin her reputation, like they’re doing Nate Parker now. We have to be diligent when it happens and counter-attack.
The entire industry is built on making women believe our faces are flawed in their natural state, and that makeup is the solution to those flaws. I never bought into it, and never will. There’s nothing wrong with my natural face. I hope it does catch on and become a thing, although I don’t begrudge those who enjoy makeup, tho’.
However, these gardens will take a lot more time and energy to create than koi waterfalls.
Cystitis happens due to the penetration of bacteria into the urethra.
A shady place is very important because the fish can get sun-burned, and that will not be a good thing.
This is so cool! I’ve always thought women more beautiful when they wear no makeup. I stopped wearing the stuff years ago. Now I have age spots and sagging jowls but I’d still rather go “naked” than have all that itchy stuff on my skin. Kudos to Alicia Keys for her brave stand. I hope more celebrities go for the clean face.

I love this. No more required cover-up. Natural is beautiful too.

These two ladies are beautiful without using makeup on their faces, but, imo, the average woman needs a little bit of help in order to bring out her beauty.
