Superstar Beyoncé surprised shoppers at a Massachusetts Walmart, giving out over $37,000 in gift cards. The singer first surprised fans and industry professionals alike when she dropped her self-titled album,Beyoncé, Dec. 13. The 32-year-old arrived at the Tewksbury store Friday night, the same day her album was released in stores, one week after its initial iTunes release. The Walmart trip comes on the heels of another major department store announcing they would not be carrying the new album. Target declined to carry Beyoncé reportedly because the singer released the album directly to iTunes, bypassing retailers.
The “Drunk In Love” singer gave everyone in the store a $50 gift card, amounting to $37,500 for 720 lucky shoppers.
