According to nytimes.com and The Washington Post, the other three officers present while Officer Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd by holding his knee on his neck for close to nine minutes have been charged in the case for aiding and abetting murder.
Chauvin’s charges have also been increased from third to second-degree murder.
To quote nytimes.com:
The three former officers, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng and Tou Thao, were charged with aiding and abetting murder, court records show.
The fourth officer, Chauvin, 44, who was arrested last week, faces an increased charge of second-degree murder.
All four officers were quickly fired from the Minneapolis Police Department after video of the encounter emerged. Officers arrested Mr. Floyd on the evening of May 25 after a store employee called the police, saying that someone had used a counterfeit $20 bill to buy cigarettes.

Yes!!! They are high-ranking criminals and all four of them need to be jailed while awaiting their trial. This is what this country does to black people. Whites…you also need to address gentrification that you all benefit from. This system of institutionalized racism is so much larger than George Floyd and I do not mean any disrespect to Mr. Floyd.
As a 71-year-old white male I started a few months ago to see/hear about White Privilege (WP) and began to research the internet to try and educate myself about WP. I instinctively knew that as a white person I had it and also had to learn how to deal with it within myself and my family and friends To say the least, it has been a forceful eye opener to me and I am sad to say I have had more negative reactions from my white cohorts that not when I’ve tried to broach the subject of WP. WOW!
I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to “make amends” to my black fellow citizens and I believe that is good since there really is no way to go back. But,I will go forward! I believe that in light of the horrors of the murder of George Floyd by four policemen, at the very least, my firm commitment to do all I can to face WP as I go forward, as the ugly and foundational basis for racism against black people is a honest start for me. WP is so insidious because it is so illusively and deeply embedded in the very fabric of my and all other white people’s psyche. May all that is good in the mystery of the Divine desire for us to live as one Race help me along. Dennis J. Crowley
